The descriptions and comments below are out of date. See above.
The PswGen toolbar for FireFox is now working, although not quite complete yet. The bits still needing attention are:
- Cosmetic: the edit-boxes can be untidy depending on the theme in use.
- Cosmetic: the padlock icon isn’t quite right.
- Functional: the “follow-me” logic isn’t firing when the user changes tabs.
- Functional: the default length of 8 in the toolbar doesn’t work, always defaults to 4.
- Functional: ditto the default length in the Options dialog.
- Functional: the parameters entered via the Options dialog aren’t yet in use anywhere.
- Wish-list: sign the XPI.
- Wish-list: provide secure update via the Mozilla add-on centre.
Despite that lot, it is still very usable. Fill in your name, secret word and number ONCE. Now watch as, when you move from site to site, passwords are generated for you. The same one for each site, every time. No need to write them down. Or even remember them. Press the “Copy” button to send it to the clipboard, and paste it in wherever you need it. Nothing for keyloggers to log!
If you’d like to help test this, leave a comment below and I’ll send you a copy. Other releases and flavours of PswGen are available on the project page.

hmm m now trying it bro.. for sumthing i would like to say it would be better if a popup would appear instead the usual toolbar (coz i don’t like toolbars) nd also add an option of Exceptions so that we might give a password to an email id nd might not end up having all our accounts locked.. i mean one email would be used to reset the password of other account then the 2nd one for the 3rd one nd like that.
also a small button should be added on the normal toolbar which would copy the password of that site onto the clipboard.well i hav not used it till now nd wil get back soon with updates.hope to hear from u soon.
