FSG-3 is now an iTunes server too
You gotta love this thing! Installing the mt-daapd package was a breeze, configuring was easy. The only caveat is that it takes ten minutes or so to get going, but the shared library appears in iTunes right away. For a day or so this made me think I had something wrong in the config, as I’d click on the shared library (or even on a song in it) as soon as it appeared, and iTunes would report an error. So I started fiddling with settings, rebooted… and started the cycle all over again.
Eventually I worked out how to get it running properly – stop messing with it!
Just got to get webmail working properly (it’s installed but the login isn’t working yet), and rsync backups, then I’m done with this box and can focus my personal time on the robotics project.
UPDATE Jan 21st: webmail is now working beautifully (see this post for details) but mt-daapd doesn’t run stable, dropping off after a while (see this post for those details!)
